With the Shazam Bolt$ mobile app, you will be able to customize and receive automatic alerts 24/7 for transactions that may cause concern on your First National Bank of Mount Vernon Debit Card. You will be notified right away when a purchase is not authorized. To prevent any further fraudulent activity on your account please call immediately to report suspicious transactions.

Shazam Prevents Fraud

First National Bank of Mount Vernon has an agreement with SHAZAM Case Management Services to strengthen our capability to prevent fraudulent debit card transactions on your account.

Declining Transactions

SHAZAM monitors debit card transactions as they occur and declines only those with the greatest likelihood of fraud. This determination is made based on the way you typically use your card. We believe this provides a valuable layer of protection to your account. In the event a transaction done with your card is flagged as highly likely to be fraud, you will receive a phone call from a SHAZAM Fraud Specialist on our behalf to verify the transaction. If it was a legitimate transaction, the details will be made part of your card profile so that these types of transactions have a greater chance of being approved in the future.

Keep Your Phone Number Updated

It is very important that we have your current phone number on file, preferably your mobile/cell phone number so we can reach you quickly. Be sure to notify us any time your phone number changes. If you suspect the contact information we have on file is outdated, please provide updated information to us as soon as possible.

Traveling With Your Debit Card

In order to avoid possible declined transactions when you travel outside of the state, please notify First National Bank of Mount Vernon before you leave for your trip. We will enter your destination and travel dates in your card profile to ensure your transactions are approved. All international card transactions must be approved by bank management prior to use.

Calls From SHAZAM

    • Calls made in regards to your debit card will be made by First National Bank of Mount Vernon, or SHAZAM only.
    • During the notification process the fraud specialist from SHAZAM will note that he or she is, "Calling from SHAZAM on behalf of First National Bank of Mount Vernon." The fraud specialist will ask you to validate your identity via a series of qualifying questions (for example, either the address or ZIP code of the account owner). Your answers to the qualifying questions must exactly match the information in our records to successfully authenticate your identity.
    • Note: You must respond to a callback request from a fraud specialist using the SHAZAM Fraud Operations toll-free number: 866-508-2693. The fraud specialist includes this number in all voice mail or answering machine messages he or she leaves for you.
